Food dAIry

In a world where data increasingly shapes our daily lives, from health tracking to navigation, Food dAIry explores how AI can extend agency to more-than-human entities, giving voice to the food we consume. The project addresses the growing disconnect between people and their food in a culture of overprocessing, urbanization, and greenwashing.

Through a data-driven, interactive interface, Food dAIry invites users to build empathetic, story-based relationships with their food. The UX design focuses on transparency, engagement, and storytelling, transforming raw data about a product’s journey into a visual, conversational experience. The UI design uses clear information hierarchies, dynamic data visualizations, and intuitive interaction patterns to make complex supply chains accessible and emotionally resonant.

By allowing food items to “introduce themselves” via AI-generated narratives, Food dAIry creates a human-centered yet more-than-human dialogue, reframing consumption as a form of connection. Beyond awareness, the experience also educates users on sustainability, offering guidance on reuse, recycling, and post-expiration practices giving each food item a second digital life.
